Web reporting: Interactive reports via Web or Intranet
Online - all the time
What if accessing your corporate KPIs were just as easy as opening this Web page? It can be ... if you publish your reports online with DeltaMaster's WebOption.
Most people are used to getting information from the Web. In fact, more and more are turning to online newspapers, webmail, portals or blogs for the latest news. After all, you can access a Web browser from almost anywhere, whether you are at work, at home, on the road, or even at customers or partners. With DeltaMaster, you can easily publish analyses and reports online - not only using Windows Terminal Services (WTS) or Citrix but even directly for the browser.

DeltaMaster reports look just as good in a browser as they do in a Windows client. What's more,
you can easily alter the view, drill down on your data, or even get detailed information
in a tooltip, for examples on sparklines.
You can create and maintain your Web reports using the full functionality of DeltaMaster's Windows client. To publish them in your Intranet or on the Web, you simply save the briefing book into a so-called repository. Report consumers can then use these applications in DeltaMaster's Reader or Viewer modes. In the Viewer mode, users can adjust the analyses interactively, for example, to drill down on details or change the view to show a different time period or another market segment. Since WebOption also supports data entry, it is also helpful in planning and budgeting.
DeltaMaster WebOption consists of three core components:
- The Web Service communicates with the underlying OLAP and relational databases, for example, Microsoft Analysis Services, SAP BW/Netweaver BI or Oracle OLAP. It generates queries, evaluates results, and calculates report contents while accounting for the appropriate access rights of each user each step of the way. This way, you can ensure that the access rights defined in the database also apply for Web reporting.
- The Web Client works between the user's browser and the Web Service. One of its main tasks is formatting the Web-based reports in (X)HTML.
- In the repository you can manage which employees can access which reports. The analysis sessions (i. e. briefing books) that the users can access through the Web are stored here as well.

The control panel for your Web reporting: In the repository you can assign roles for
different users or groups and determine which applications they can access on which
DeltaMaster level.
This section explains the technical details - and is probably most interesting for your IT. DeltaMaster WebOption is based on Microsoft .NET Framework 3.0 and Internet Information Services (IIS) version 5.1 and higher. The repository is a database in Microsoft SQL Server 2005 or 2008. Report consumers only need a Web browser such as Microsoft Internet Explorer (version 6 or higher) or Mozilla Firefox (version 2 or higher) to access their individual reports. Plug-ins or browser extensions such as Java, ActiveX, Flash or Silverlight are not necessary. Reports will be generated as clean HTML or XHTML files. AJAX and JavaScript ensure the interactive interface. In many cases, a Single Sign-On is possible. Authentification using Kerberos is supported. The Web Service, Web Client and repository can either run on the same server or different ones. The system is multi-client capable and can run multiple, independent instances at the same time. As a result, DeltaMaster WebOption is also suitable for Application Service Providing (ASP) or Software as a Service (SaaS). The integration into existing portals or content management systems (CMS) is possible.
